Updates on ongoing projects

  • Pat displayed new sign for rear entrance; installing it ourselves will save $250
  • Pat displayed new signage for the hallway starting at the new back entrance
  • Front entrance handicapped accessibility
    • Two estimates received.  First from the company recommended by the Bachman family is for around $7,000 and “includes everything” (battery that  is regenerative charging, post in front of ramp
    • Second estimate for $11,665 includes replacing the two existing front doors as the contractor feels they are not adaptable for the mechanism; we would still have to supply the electric service
    • Pat will contact Mary Bachman and discuss alternatives with her.  Is there a possibility of including the Fellowship Hall entrance now that renovations of that area have been postponed?
    • It was noted that regardless of system choice, the doors will always need to be unlocked first for any system to work.  We will not be having operable handicapped access 24/7.
  • Electrical issues discussion from last meeting continued this meeting.
    • Chris Zollo noted problems of wiring in the storage area adjacent to the Youth Room, the inadequate wiring of the Pre K office was also mentioned.  The ceiling fan has not yet been installed in the main office area.
    • Pat will contact Chris to check his immediate availability for any or all of these projects.  It may be necessary to pay an electrical contractor to complete some or all of these projects.
  • Successful work day in August including a lot of bush trimming, digging a trench outside Fellowship Hall windows for the installation of new window sill capping, gutter reattachment on the east side of Fellowship Hall, playground weeding and mulch distribution, installation of hallway signage brackets

Work projects for the evening

  • Sample opaque film installed on one window in pre K room for staff to see if it fits their needs
  • Hallway signage was hung on the brackets installed on the work day of 8/25
  • Lighting in Pre K classroom opening onto atrium was noted to be LED not fluorescent tubes and thus safe to use without lens protection over tubes
  • Drapes and rods in Fellowship Hall removed prior to installation of new windows

Completed Projects

  • Bob Frisch replaced the outside spigot outside Fellowship Hall entrance as well as making the urinal in the men’s room outside Fellowship Hall a manual flush operation again
  • Security Lock sets were purchased and installed on the doors of all pre K rooms and the doors of the large education area; adjustments made after trial use
  • Peters HVAC is working on getting the heating system ready for season (return pump was leaking last spring)
