Tenebrae Service of Darkness 7:30 pm

You’re Invited!

Come and join us tonight for a Holy Week event at the Good Friday Tenebrae Service.

Report March 21, 2018

Spring is right around the corner, despite what you may feel when you walk out the door.  With the arrival of spring comes the return of the most recent commodity to be added to the food pantry offerings- fresh produce.

HOWEVER

Unless we can find drivers available on Tuesdays from approximately 10:30AM to 1:00PM we will not be able to offer in season fresh produce to our clients.

The distribution takes place in Bensalem at 11:30AM so these times include travel time.  The season runs from April until October.  We could make up a schedule for the month or perhaps make up one where you volunteer the same week for each of the seven months.

If you are able to help in any way please contact Alan Eickhoff

UPDATE:
We are happy to report that our collection of Shoprite of Warminster register receipts generated $246.56 for the last quarter of 2017.  Please keep saving them and sending them to the pantry.  Note: that only Warminster Shoprite receipts count towards this program.

February use of the pantry was down again this year to about the level of use in 2015.  The downward trend began in 2017.  While we still see new clients coming, one curious phenomenon is that we see some folks who have not used the pantry in over a year are returning.  Movement from the inactive to active client list is something that we shall start to track.

Our freezers and refrigerator have been moved to the new storage area as renovations at St. John’s continue.  Current plans indicate that we will move all pantry items out of Fellowship Hall in June in preparation for renovation of that area.

The vital ministry of the Food Pantry would not be possible without the continued prayers and generous support you offer.

We thank you.

National Youth Gathering Fundraisers:

The National Youth Group students who are going to Texas in July. They have been busy planning ways to help offset the cost of the trip.

Here are two ways you can help:

Wawa Coupons

The kids are selling Wawa hoagie coupons for $5 each. A table will be set up in Fellowship Hall around each of the 3 weekend services. Just stop by and see us.

Flea Market

Rent a table and sell your stuff; it benefits all!

On Saturday, May 19,  9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the students will be hosting a flea market in the church parking lot.

Tables will be ready for set up by 8:00 am.
The rental cost of a table is $10 and that goes toward the NYG trip to Houston.
There will also be refreshments and games for the kids.
Come one, come all to support the National Youth Gathering Trip to Houston, Texas.
Please contact Stephanie Metheny, Pastor Reimer, or any of the National Youth Gathering students for more information.
