Summer is in full swing and so is the pantry.

The bounty of our offering reflects the fresh produce available at this time of year.  We are seeing cabbage, cucumbers, green and yellow squash, radishes, and carrots fill up our tables.

Coincidentally, our number of clients remained steady in June 2018 as compared to June 2017.

Our hours remain the same as always – 10:30AM to 2:30PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The first and third Monday of each month we are open from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.  Please share this with anyone you know who might benefit from using the pantry.  We only ask for a photo id.

One food commodity that is difficult for us to keep stocked is boxed spaghetti.  The standard sized box is not readily available to us in our shopping trips so we have to rely on donations to keep it stocked.  Any style of the long pasta noodles will suffice.

Our perpetual need for toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, dish detergent and laundry soap remains.  These items are as “gold” to our shoppers.  We do not purchase these items but rely on the kindness and generosity of our donors to keep them stocked.

Have you considered “BOGO” when you are shopping?  No, not “buy one, get one” but rather, “buy one, GIVE one.”  This is a relatively easy way to support the food pantry ministry.

We are very thankful for the faithfulness of our volunteers as well as the addition of some new folks to keep the operation running.  Also, we are thankful for the blessing of the continued support of the many individuals and groups.  We would not exist without you.

Volunteering:  Wednesdays
The Wednesday opportunity is working in the pantry itself.  The morning shift starts around 10:15 am as the pantry opens for business at 10:30 am.  The morning shift ends and the afternoon shift starts at 12:30 pm.  The pantry closes at 2:30 pm and there is usually only a little clean up time as we are open on Thursdays.  Our need here is for someone who is physically able to lift items from the storage cabinets to restock the pantry shelves.  Of course, you are welcome to work both shifts and spend the day.
