Food Pantry Report November 18, 2020

There has been no subsiding in the use of the pantry.

397 families sought help in the month of October.  New sources of donations include the addition of mixed product boxes from the US Department of Agriculture.   The distribution of fresh produce by Rolling Harvest has ended with the close of the local growing season.

There is a real need for volunteer help.  You don’t have to make a commitment to be there every day.  There is a sign-up genius posted weekly that allows volunteers to pick their days and times.  Please visit if you are interested in helping.

Pantry volunteer hours are:

  • 10 AM and 1 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • There is a special prep and set up session every Monday at 5 PM.

A meeting between the H.A.T.Packs Leadership team, Pastor Reimer and Alan Eickhoff was held to plan for the eventual return of clients shopping for themselves rather than receiving prepacked bags.  Design of the pantry itself, placement of shelving and storage units was part of the discussion.  When the time is right the former way of serving clients will be reintroduced.

We are planning for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Rather than full meal baskets, we are encouraging the donation of gift cards in amounts of $25.  We ask that the cards either be from the Grocery Outlet on County Line Rd in Warminster or from Giant Food Stores.  Both stores have been very generous in their support of our ministry.

We thank you for your continued prayers and support.
