Food Pantry Report May 15, 2019

April use of the pantry continued the existing pattern for 2019 as the number of clients served grew from 247 in 2018 to 273 in 2019.  January and April were alike in that the number of new clients was actually fewer than in 2018.  However, February and March were alike in that the number of new clients increased from 2018.  Translation, there is no real way to predict what will happen next.

We are thankful that the Garden of Health has restocked our cart of gluten/sugar/salt free items twice this month.  We now have a vast array of pasta, sauce, ketchup, jelly, peanut butter, snacks and cookies to offer those families that have dietary restrictions.

We are also thankful to those of you who faithfully save receipts from Warminster Shoprite.  We have received a check for $164.64 covering the first three months of 2019.

  • Collected receipts may be delivered to the pantry or deposited in the red plastic box in the hallway outside Fellowship Hall.
  • Keep up the good work, thank you.

Last but certainly not least we would like to thank those of you who have responded to our request for personal care items.  The steady stream of donations is pretty even with the demand.  Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, dish soap, laundry detergent are all precious commodities as our clients are unable to use SNAP (food stamp) monies for them.

We are looking forward to spring and the return of fresh produce distribution.  This will take place every Tuesday at 11 AM in Bensalem, PA.  We are in need of two people to be a team to pick up items on the “odd” Tuesdays – that is the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesdays of the month during the growing season that will extend into October.

  • If you can help with any or all of these days please call Alan at 215-675-1298.

Thank you one and all for your support and prayers.
