Food Pantry Report January 2020

January 15, 2019

We served 224 families during the month of December 2019.  That is an increase of 9 over 2018.  13 of these families were new clients.

We were blessed by numerous donations both corporate and individual.  Church of the Advent provided 30 full meal baskets for the holiday.  We received 5 hams to distribute.  Santa made two new appearances in addition to his past patrons on behalf of the pantry.  The pre-k program at St. John’s continued its annual collection.

We are delighted to note that our plea for drivers to pick up at the Wilson Center has generated a very positive response.
One current couple has doubled their effort and covered the Friday request.  We ended up with 4 new drivers for the Thursday request.  Currently, they are being trained and will be worked into the schedule.

We continue to ask for your support and prayers as we move forward balancing increasing use with declining revenue.  The Leadership Team has had several discussions on how to address this issue.  Though we can always use the personal care items, we are going to be stressing food needs in future reports.  Currently, we are requesting donations of cereal, peanut butter (both chunky and smooth), canned tomatoes (both stewed and diced), canned potatoes, canned beans (baked, black and kidney), boxed spaghetti as well as toilet paper.

Thank you for all that you do for the pantry clients.
