Sunday School

Classes consist of a lesson of the Lord, crafts, and songs.  Fourth grade students receive their first Holy Communion with a five week course during Lent.  Students in seventh and eighth grades receive confirmation classes on Tuesday evenings.

The St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday school program is full of many exciting activities.  I am always looking for new faces to join us—either as students or volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Harry Betz at

Many of you were baptized as infants or small children. At your Baptism, God claimed you as God’s own and promised you new life in Jesus Christ. God promised to give you the Holy Spirit to forgive your sins, and to give you eternal life. All this God promised to you as a free and undeserved gift because God loves you and sent Jesus into the world to die for your sake.

Confirmation is starting on January 9th. Information for the parents will be sent out in November. We are planning on having a ceremony for the Confirmands who did not receive one due to covid. Please email Abbie Metheny at with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Communion is starting in Lent and the students will receive their First Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday, April 14. Due to covid we would like to invite the 2019 and 2020 communion classes to join in with this years communion classes. If you are interested, please email Abbie Metheny at

Music Ministry

The congregation at St. John’s is delighted to enjoy and share with the community excellent music of many kinds. St. John’s Music Ministry  enables church and community members to express and share faith through music during worship and special concerts.
