St. John’s Sunday school staff is made up of volunteers who teach the children the word of the Lord. Sunday school classes take place during the 9 am church service. Classes run from approximately 9:15 until 10:15. All children between age 3 and grade 12 are invited to attend. We also have a nursery for infants and children under age 3.
Classes consist of a lesson of the Lord, crafts, and songs. Fourth grade students receive their first Holy Communion with a five week course during Lent. Students in seventh and eighth grades receive confirmation classes on Tuesday evenings.
Our Sunday school program offers field trips to Masonic Village Nursing Home where the children visit with the residents. They sing songs and have a snack with the residents. We also have a community outreach program in May to deliver flowers to the neighbors of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Our students between age 3 and grade 6 share their talents during the Christmas and Easter seasons by performing programs for the congregation.
The St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday school program is full of many exciting activities. I am always looking for new faces to join us—either as students or volunteers.

Many of you were baptized as infants or small children. At your Baptism, God claimed you as God’s own and promised you new life
in Jesus Christ. God promised to give you the Holy Spirit to forgive your sins, and to give you eternal life. All this God promised to you
as a free and undeserved gift because God loves you and sent Jesus into the world to die for your sake. Please download the Confirmation information booklet below.
